American Airlines switches to smaller airplanes

Updated: Thursday, August 29 2013, 09:19 PM CDT
If you've flown on an American Airlines flight out of Jack Brooks Regional Airport since Tuesday, you may have noticed a smaller plane.
The airline says they made the change to decrease their costs and manage demand.
The smaller jet carries 44 passengers down from 50.
They've been operating with a revenue guarantee since flights to Dallas started in February.
The guarantee is for two years and about 1.5 million dollars.
In July, the airline tapped into about $48,000 of the guarantee.
Not every passenger likes the smaller planes though.
The airline is also eliminating one flight on Saturday.
Officials say the revenue guarantee will have to be updated to reflect change to smaller planes.American Airlines switches to smaller airplanes
