Groves street honors police officer killed in line of duty

The community where a Beaumont police officer killed in the line of duty grew up has honored him permanently.         
Bryan Hebert died in July of 2011. A man deliberately ran into Hebert's Beaumont police car on Dowlen Road at the end of a chase.
Hebert had to put down spikes to stop the driver.
Bryan Hebert grew in Groves, and this morning, members of his family, along with Beaumont police chief Jimmy Singletary and other officers, cut the ribbon on a street named in Hebert's honor.
Bryan Hebert Lane intersects with Joplin Street in Groves.
Police and the officer's family say the street is a tribute to his sacrifice and his servce.
