Lumberton hosted the annual meeting of the 100 Club yesterday.
The 100 Club of Southeast Texas was set up in 1988 after Beaumont police officer Paul Hulsey Jr. was killed in the line of duty.
The organization is 100-percent volunteer-run and raises money to give immediate funds to the family of fallen police officers and firefighters.
Since the group was formed, seven officers have been killed in the line of duty-- Five from the Beaumont Police Department and two game wardens.
This meeting was to talk about fundraising and elect new officers.
