Southeast Texas flu cases triple in number

Updated: Wednesday, December 18 2013, 05:54 PM CST
Coughs, fevers, aches, fatigue are all symptoms of the flu.
Flu season officially started in October, but the Beaumont Health Department says they expect to see an increase in flu cases from now until February.
One of the most effective ways to prevent the disease is with the flu vaccine.
The department says it's seen cases triple in the past few weeks, but the peak of flu season is not expected until February.
It's likely to get worse before it gets better.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Texas is one of four states with high influenza activity.
Other ways to help prevent the flu include washing your hands, staying home from work if you're sick, keeping your kids home from school if they're sick and again, getting vaccinated.Southeast Texas flu cases triple in number
