Updated: Wednesday, July 9 2014, 04:33 PM CDT
SOUTHEAST TEXAS - Patients and pharmacists are reporting skyrocketing drug prices, both name brand and generic, in the past year.

One pharmacist told us the increases are amounting to 100 percent, 1,000 percent, and in some cases 6,000 percent.

An example: Mycolog, an anti-fungal cream, has increased from $49 last July to $169 this year.

Amitriptyline, a generic used to treat depression, skyrocketed from $18 to $400 for a bottle of 1,000 tablets. Prescription drug prices increasing, pharmacists & patients express concerns
