The Beaumont ISD is seeking to prevent the TEA from installing a board of managers to replace trustees and putting in a new superintendent to replace Dr. Timothy Chargois.

KBTV reporter Leslie Rangel and Chief Photographer Troy Harper are covering the hearing.

The TEA is basing the takeover plan on what it calls vast financial mismanagement in BISD and a loss of public trust, among other things.

A Temporary Restraining Order that would have prevented the takeover has expired. The Education Commissioner plans to replace trustees with a board of managers and replace the superintendent, Dr. Timothy Chargois.

Monday the TEA confirmed the Education Commissioner's decision to lower the district's accreditation and elevate the monitor to conservator.BISD Temporary Injunction hearing assigned to Judge Stephen Yelenosky in Travis County
