KBTV has obtained a document that sheds new information on planned cutbacks in BISD.

The Beaumont school district conservator has written a letter to superintendent Dr. Timothy Chargois, suggesting the superintendent expand the number of positions that will be cut in the central office.

On Monday night, the board delayed a vote on the superintendent's plan to cut more than two hundred jobs, primarily teaching and other staff positions.

In the letter conservator Fred Shafer sent to Dr. Chargois and school board members today (Wednesday). Shafer directs the superintendent to create a second reduction in force list, comprised primarily of central office professional positions for cutbacks.

The conservator says the total personnel cost savings should amount to about $2.5 million, according to a report from the district's financial consultant.

The conservator says the list of additional cuts in central administration.. should be presented to the school board for consideration at its meeting on June 19.
