Lamar University president says enrollment is up

Updated: Monday, August 18 2014, 11:27 PM CDT
BEAUMONT - Lamar University president Kenneth Evans rolled out the welcome mat for his staff to prepare for next week.

Evans delivered his second state-of-the-university speech at LU. He laid down  the ground work for his expectations for new school years. Evans also expects to continue to grow the university's enrollment this year.

"We're looking at a great enrollment for this coming fall, it's up about 4% head count and almost 14% student credit hours over what we had last year, " said Lamar University president Dr. Kenneth Evans. "Summer enrollment was also up. So, really great, positive momentum here at Lamar."
