No arrest warrant will be issued for Governor Perry, no mugshot or jail booking immediately required

Updated: Monday, August 18 2014, 05:04 PM CDT
No arrest warrant was issued for TX Gov. Rick Perry, CNN has confirmed, with the Travis County TX District Court, thus, he is not required to turn himself into police, and not required to have a mug shot taken or be fingerprinted.

Instead the judge issued a summons, which means the governor does not have to surrender to be fingerprinted and photographed before his criminal case can proceed. Linda Estrada with the Criminal Division of Travis County District Court told CNN Monday.

Travis County District Judge Robert "Bert" Richardson asked for the summons, meaning the prosecutor appointed to the case and Perry's defense attorney will determine a convenient date and a summons letter will be sent telling Governor Perry when to appear in court.

That date hasn't been set, so a summons hasn't yet been issued.
