Reaction after former Crystal Beach fire chief David Loop indicted

Former Crystal Beach fire chief David Loop has been indicted.

Fox 4 reporter Kara Dixon went to Crystal Beach Friday and spoke with an official about the case against Loop.

Investigators say Loop used the department's credit card at a Louisiana race track and casino and spent more than $25,000.

They say he also misused more than $45,000. Watch Kara's full report.

Sheriff's Office announces the return of two indictment in the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department Theft investigation:

A
Galveston County Grand Jury returned two indictments on the Past Fire
Chief of the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department, David Miles Loop,
56 was indicted on the charges of Theft 2nd degree felony, by a Public
Servant and Misapplication of Fiduciary Property a 3rd degree felony.

These
indictments are the result of a 9 month investigation by a Sheriff's
Office Criminal Investigation  Detectives, the District Attorney's Fraud
Examiner and the Public Integity Prosecutor.

It was learned that
Mr. Loop used the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department's credit card
at a Louisiana race track and casino to the amount of over $25,000.00.
He also misappropriated over $45,000.00 of the department's money.

Loop's bonds are set at $10,000.00 for the Theft charge and $5,000.00 for the Misapplication of Fiduciary Property charge.
