Tropical Storm Henriette gains strength in Pacific

MIAMI (AP) -- Forecasters say Tropical Storm Henriette is gathering strength out in the Pacific Ocean, far from land.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Monday that Henriette was about 1,415 miles (2,277 kilometers) west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula.

It has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (97 kph) and is moving west.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Gil was moving to the west-southwest, about 1,175 miles (1,891 kilometers) east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii.

No watches or warnings are in effect for either storm.Tropical Storm Henriette gains strength in Pacific
