Cardinals look forward to post-season tournament

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 02:47 PM CDT
May 22 at Constellation Field in Sugarland -- that's where your Lamar Cardinal baseball team will be, but they have one more weekend SLC series to play before  that post-season tournament becomes a reality. Big Red currently sits in sixth place in the SLC race. The top eight teams will make the conference post-season tourney, and with three games left to play, the Cards are a lock to be tournament bound. That's the good news; The bad-- well, the Red Birds have delt with injuries before, but this one will hurt.  Senior right-hand pitcher Eric Harrington has taken the mound for the last time as a Cardinal. Harrington's 7-1 this year with a 2.38 ERA and will certainly be missed. A slap tear in his labrum will end his career. Harrington's looking at things as going out on top and starting the next phase of his baseball career a little early. The Cards will forge ahead. It's the final series of the regular season and the last chance to see Lamar at Vincent-Beck Stadium.  It's a Thursday- Friday- Saturday series with the weeknights starting at 6:30 p.m. and the finale at 1 p.m. On Saturday, the more the merrier. I know the Cards appreciate your support.Cardinals look forward to post-season tournament
