High school football players honored at Willie Ray Smith Awards

Updated: Wednesday, February 19 2014, 10:07 PM CST
For the past 22 years, Southeast Texas student athletes have been honored with what has become the most prestigious award for a high school football player  in our area. Often referred to as the "High School Heisman," the Willie Ray Smith award was created in 1992, and it's in honor of the legendary coach who had a hand in changing the game of football we know today.
Two more names were added to the elite list tonight.
Congratulations to Patrick Reed of Silsbee for winning the offensive award and Nederland's DeShawn Washington for taking the honors on defense.High school football players honored at Willie Ray Smith Awards
