Updated: Wednesday, December 11 2013, 10:17 PM CST
Depending on which person or website you listen to, University of Texas head football coach Mack Brown is either staying.... resigning... or waiting for the school to fire him.
Right now, the fact of the matter is Brown is still the head coach at Texas.
Brown has been rumored to be out at Texas at various times this season, but his status really began to heat up following last Saturday's loss to Baylor that ended the regular season.
Monday, one internet site reported Brown was out, but Brown responded while on a recruiting trip in Florida, saying he's still the Texas head coach.
Today, we caught up with Brown's attorney Joe Jamail. He's working a civil trial in Beaumont. Jamail offered his reaction to all of the rumors surrounding Mack Brown.
Jamail went on to tell us he doesn't understand how internet sites can spark so many rumors and not be held accountable.
In the meantime, Alabama's Nick Saban was also in Beaumont today recruiting a high school player, and there are some unconfirmed reports that he's been offered a lucrative deal to leave Alabama for Texas.
Ozen corner back Tony Brown, however, says Saban was here recruiting strictly for Alabama.Mack Brown's attorney responds to rumors about the coach's fate at UT
