New app brings information about predators to smartphones
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, is hoping a new smartphone app will help engage the public in catching child predators.
ICE says the app, which is the first of it's kind, will allow anyone who downloads it to receive alerts about suspected predators and share the information quickly by e-mail or social media.
The app also allows users to view news about arrests and prosecutions of child predators.
ICE investigators say they're trying to keep up with the growing trend of receiving information on a mobile device.
The app is currently only available for Apple devices, but ICE says they are hoping to expand it to other smartphones and tablets in the near future.
