Vidor P.D. believes Chrysler 300 may be linked to fatal auto-ped
Police are asking the public's help in spotting a Chrysler sedan they say may have fled a hit and run that killed a 48-year-old Vidor man.
Richard Sanford of Vidor died after he was hit by a car off of the I-10 east frontage road between Highway 1135 and Cow Bayou.
Police say one driver stopped to call 9-1-1 last Thursday night after he struck what he thought was an animal. He went back and discovered Sanford's body.
Police tell us the driver was the second person to strike the victim investigators are trying to track down the first car that hit Sanford.
They believe it was someone driving a Chrysler 300 sedan 2006 to 2008.
They say the car will have heavy front end damage on the left side.
