Beaumont police investigate cause of wreck that killed teacher
Beaumont police are using witness statements and measurements taken at the scene to piece together the circumstances of a car accident that killed a teacher.
Forty-four-year-old Erin Ilari died in the collision Monday afternoon.
She was a teacher at Bingman Head Start in Beaumont.
According to police, Ilari was driving her Chevrolet Malibu south on Todd Street shortly after 5 in the afternoon Monday.
Police say she pulled onto College Street, and a 25-year-old man driving a Honda Civic struck Ilari's car at the intersection.
The teacher's two children and a friend of one child were in the car. Doctors treated them for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda was also taken to a hospital. Police say he too received non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say this was the eighth traffic fatality of the year in Beaumont.
