Man hospitalized after shooting on Euclid
UPDATE: Beaumont - A 33-year-old Beaumont man is in critical condition at Christus St. Elizabeth following a disturbance that ended in gunfire in front of a south Beaumont residence.
Beaumont police responded to calls of shots fired around 12:20 p.m. in the 2700 block of Euclid Friday afternoon and Sgt. Rob Flores said that when officers arrived at the scene they found 33-year-old Beaumont resident Julius Stelly lying in the driveway of the house.
Stelly had multiple gunshot wounds to his back and lower body.
Beaumont EMS transported him to Christus St. Elizabeth where he was listed in critical condition and was being prepared for surgery around 2:20 p.m.
Officers spoke with witnesses who said that Stelly had been involved in an argument with an acquaintance in front of the house and said that sometime during that disturbance the acquaintance pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at Stelly.
Flores said the shooting suspect then fled the area in a green SUV. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and are trying to confirm the identity of the suspect.
BEAUMONT - One man is in the hospital after what Beaumont police call a shooting in the 2700 block of Euclid near Goliad in Beaumont.
Beaumont police received calls of shots fired around 12:20 p.m. Friday afternoon and Sgt. Rob Flores said that when officers arrived at the scene they found one man with a gunshot wound to the lower back.
Through their investigation the Beaumont Police Department determined that the shooter and the victim knew each other, Flores said.
Flores said there was some sort of disturbance when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several rounds.
The victim was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth and his condition is currently unknown, Flores said.
The suspect left the scene in a green SUV, Flores said.
