Nederland celebrates ribbon cutting of sixth city hall
Residents in Nederland have a new center for city government.
Nederland celebrated the opening of its sixth city hall with a ribbon cutting at the new location on 12th street.
The total cost of construction was almost one point three million dollars and was paid for through the city's capital outlay fund.
The city manager says the staff is looking forward to being in the new building.
The opening of the new city hall makes way for a new public safety complex, the Homer E. Nagel public safety complex, named for the former mayor of Nederland.
The complex is expected to be completed by August of next year.
