Man killed in auto-pedestrian accident
The identity of the man who died following an auto pedestrian collision Monday morning has been released by authorities.
Witnesses said the 63-year-old Beaumont man, Terry Breaux, was attempting to cross East Lucas from the south side of the road to the north side when he was struck by a Ford F150, according to Officer Carol Riley.
The Ford F150 was operated by a 23-year-old Beaumont man and was traveling west in the 3900 block of East Lucas at about 7 a.m., Riley said.
Breaux was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he died from his injuries, Riley said.
Breaux's next of kin has been notified at the Traffic Unit is investigating the incident, Riley said.
BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police are investigating a fatal auto pedestrian collision.
Beaumont fire dispatchers tell Fox 4 someone called 911 to report the auto pedestrian accident at about 7 a.m. Monday in the 3800 block of East Lucas just past Concord near the HEB store.
Paramedics transported the pedestrian, a man, to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth as a trauma alert patient. Beaumont Police Officer Carol Riley tells Fox 4 the man died.
Police remained at the scene taking measurements as part of the investigation.
