BISD director of finance, comptroller may lose jobs
Two Beaumont school district administrators may lose their jobs.
Devin McCraney, the director of finance, and Sharika Allison, the district's comptroller.
That's according to the agenda posted tonight for Thursday's board meeting.
Fox 4's Justin Hinton was at tonight's meeting and has the details.
That agenda item became public after tonight's meeting.
It wasn't discussed during the meeting.
We tried talking to superintendent Dr. Timothy Chargois, but he declined to comment.
At no point has he offered comment on whether McCraney or Allison were the two employees placed on administrative leave following the visit from the FBI.
During that time, FBI agents stopped by both Sharika Allison's and Devin McCraney's homes.
Our cameras were there when they seized documents from McCraney's.
But at tonight's meeting, the focus was on what Dr. Chargois considered the path forward in the finance department.
Part of that path forward includes the hiring of two employees to work in the district's finance department.
They discussed how there are still several positions in that department that are vacant, but Chargois said tonight that the "business office is working."
