Jefferson County man dies when golf cart gets hit by car
People who live on 4th Street in Port Neches say driving a golf cart is common in the area, but for one Jefferson County man, a golf cart ride turned fatal at the intersection of 4th Street and Highway 366.
People who live nearby heard the crash and say golf cart safety is an issue in the area.
Police said 47-year-old Robby Wayne of Port Neches didn't yield the right of way at the stop sign at 4th Street and Highway 366.
Police said Chapman tried to cross the road about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when a car struck him on the driver's side.
He died on the way to the hospital.
People living on 4th Street say people ride golf carts in the area all the time.
